Wow 2012!

It is hard to believe it is 2012! With the new year comes new resolutions . . . mine is to start working on "MY" life and doing more of the things "I" love, like blogging :) This past year has been a crazy whirlwind and with that I seem to have stopped doing alot of the things I enjoy. Life is busy with 4 kids but it is time to make a little time for me.

What's your resolution for this year??

From now on I am going to try to post a few times a month and post all or any of my creations from card making right down to happenings in the home. Hope you'll stop by and check out my posts.

For today I thought I would share a cute craft that I found on Pinterest and decided to try my hand at my own take. I made this for my daughters teacher for Christmas.

The mini chalk board features the grade written in chalk so it can be changed if the teacher changes grades! How clever!!

Yes it is a miracle! I am actually here . . . posting, who would have thought. Life has been soooooo crazy lately, I don't even know where to begin. I have not been scrapping as much as usual infact I recently resigned from my spot on the Created with Paper Design Team simply due to lack of time. Sad but True! However . . . Every week I do post a card creation over on Die Cuttin' Diva's so if it is not posted here be sure to check it out there. Here is my card for this week:

Now your probably wondering what I have been doing with my time since I have not been scrapping much. Well as you know I have 4 kids, babysit and I work part time so that in itself keeps me pretty busy but I have also taken up a new obsession . . . I mean craft ;) CROCHETING . . . and I love it!!! Diva Challenge

It is time for another challenge over Die Cuttin Diva's and this week we are working with my favorite types of cards . . . Baby Cards!!! These are so much fun to make and the possibilities for them are endless, with all the fabulous baby and child inspired pattern papers.

This weeks challenge is to make a "baby" themed project and include a baby animal die cut. Remember any die cut machine can be used to create your master piece.

Here is the card I made for this weeks challenge:

I used my Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge to cut the little lamb. This cartridge has so many great cuts on it, not just the paper dolls!

Sketch Time at the Diva's

March Already??? Seriously? I cannot believe it!

The beginning of the month is such a crazy busy time and I always feel like I am loosing it! This month is no different. LOL In amoungst the craziness is the first Challenge of the month over at Die Cuttin' Diva's. On the first of every month we feature a sketch, the only trick to our sketches it that you must use a die cut, any machine, any theme so the sky is the limit!

I am not really happy with this card but you can't win them all and my time has been limited lately so there is no take 2 on this one.

Seeing Silouettes!

It is week 4 over at Die Cuttin Divas and this week is all about silouettes. I was stumped on this one for quite some time but this is what I came up with . . . a wedding card.

for this card I used a frosted acrylic base and some gorgeous Imaginisce Love and Cherish pattern paper. As for the cut I used my Cricut Expression and then Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge.

I seriously cannot believe we are already on week 3 over at the Diva's! We have had such amazing ladies come out and join us in our challenges and we could not be happier with the results of the challenge blog thus far. We have seen some fabulous talent and cannot wait to see more so be sure to send your friends by.

This weeks challenge is all about "Stars" inturpret that anyway you would like, just remember your card must feature a star die cut, any machine, any die cut!

Finally . . . the Cake!

How are all you fabulous ladies doing today? I have been having a rather blah week which means I have been doing zero creating. I actually took apart my scrap room to clean and rearrange it on Monday night . . . I made a bigger mess than was already there and I have yet to clean it up. How bad is that??? I have been meaning to reorganize it for ages so it is about time I get it done. In the meantime I thought I would share the Birthday cake I made for Jacob a couple weeks ago and promised to share with you all.

I have been an amateur cake decorator for a long time but usually just use buttercream and a piping bag. It was only a couple weeks ago that I decided to try a fondant on my cake and I am loving it. It is seriously like scrapbooking on food!!! Now if I could get my hands on a cricut cake I'd be laughing ;) unfortunately its not in the financial future LOL.

So here is the cake I made for my HUGE Toy Story fan:

I was so happy with how this cake turned out and everyone at the party loved it. I even had a request from one little guy to make one for his birthday ;)

Midnight Frost Collection

I cannot believe we have already blown through the first month of 2011. January was such a crazy month around around here. We had so many birthday parties this past month which was really enjoyable but very expensive and crazy when they all follow Christmas that closely. I am actually glad it's February and maybe things will slow down . . . maybe? LOL

With a new month comes another new Created with Paper collection kit. This months collection is titled "Midnight Frost" and feature some beautiful Bo Bunny! Midnight Frost is filled with an array of blues and warm coordinating tones, featuring winter accents with a touch of glitter. This collection is a stunning way to highlight your winter photos and crafts. Here are a few of my creations:

First "Official" Diva Challenge

I am sooooooo excited to be posting the first official Die Cuttin Diva's challenge! Carla and I have been working hard to get this challenge site up and running and we are over the moon today to get it going.

Here are a few reminder details about the blog. Each Tuesday we will post a new weekly challenge with the first Tuesday of each month being a sketch. You can use absolutely ANY Die Cut Machine or device to create your card, project or layout. (your project MUST contain at least one die cut to qualify for prizes) At the end of each month we will be giving away a prize for participation. You will recieve an entry into the prize pool for each challenge you complete through out the month, so play along often! To show us your project simply leave a link via Mr. Linky at the bottom of the challenge post.

Birthday Gift and a CPS Card

Hope all you fabulous ladies have had another wonderful weekend. Things were just as crazy around here as always. We celebrated Jacob's 3rd Birthday Sunday with a party and I made a cake for him which I will share later this week, plus I had another cake to do for someone that placed an order. In addition to that we also went to a birthday on Saturday for a good friends son. He is a Star Wars fan so I made him the gift basket below and to go along with it I made this card which is my take on this weeks CPS Sketch.

I think this card Coordinated well with the basket and the Star Wars theme. Here is the basket:

Another New Venture

Good Morning! Another early morning around here today, I am babysitting to we were up at 6:30 a.m, thank goodness I only have to do this once in a while. I will likely be using toothpicks to keep my eyes open by lunch time. Not too much on todays agenda.

I thought I would pop in here today to share another one of my latest ventures with you all.

Yesterday I decided to join Uppercase Living as a demonstrator Uppercase Living is a fabulous company that sells Vinyl wall art, both stock and custom in addition to home decor. I am absolutely in love with the products and they are gorgeous, reasonably priced and available to both my Canadian and American Friends which makes it even better! At present you can take view the catalouge on my site but within weeks you will also be able to order products and have them shipped right to your door. It doesn't get any easier than that! I really hope you'll take some time to take a peek and let me know what you think!

Now how true is that? I am not sure that it is cheaper but I certainly enjoy it more than I would enjoy therapy!

Diva Bonus Challenge

Good Morning Ladies! Glad you had a chance to pop in today. Carla and I have been working hard getting Die Cuttin Divas ready to roll on February 1st but we are getting a little antsy and February seems so far away ;) So...... we have decided to have an Early Bird Bonus Challenge to debute our DT Application Cards, and allow all of you to play along with us. How exciting is that?

Here is my take on a Winter Card, I used my Cricut Expression and the Accent Essentials Cartridge to create the snowflake.

Busy Busy Busy

As usual this place has been a zoo! Juggling a household of 6 is a tough job! PHEW!! I feel like I have been neglecting all you lovely ladies so I figured I should get my butt on here and share something with you all. I have been scrapping quite a bit lately, unfortunately it is all stuff I cannot share yet but I will eventually ;) So today I thought I would share another non scrappy project, a baby blanket! The little boy I babysit is expecting a brand new little sister soon so I thought I would make her a blanket. I sew alot of Halloween costumes and stuff but not usually things that have to be washed, I worry my amateur sewing will fall apart in the wash LOL! I triple reinforced this baby ;)

Here is my Minky Baby Blanket, one side is flannel and the other is Minky Fleece . . . soooooo soft.

Cutest Baking Basket

Well I had hoped with the Christmas holidays over that things would slow down around here but that is just not the case. We went for Christmas right into Birthday party's galore! and with birthdays, come presents . . . One of my goals for 2011 is to incorporate more hand made gifts into my repertoire. I LOVE creating so what better way to share the passion right?

Our first Birthday Party of the year was this past weekend, it was my girlfriends daughters big day and I wanted to make it special. This particular little one loves to bake with her mom so I thought I would get her, her own apron. I purchased one off Etsy (love supporting other crafters) and the basket spiraled from there, Check it out:

I added her initial to the apron with my i-rock

this is a package of sugar cookie mix that I made a topper for

using cardstock, pattern paper, a rub on, bling and my cricut

a box of cupcake mix wrapped in cardstock and pattern paper

embellished with a cupcake cut from my cricut and some bling.

this is a reused Prima flower bag that I filled with blank recipe cards.

I embellished the bag with a cupcake cut from my cricut and some alphas.

lastly I decorated the basket everything was in by making this flower

alligator clip that matched the apron using my i-top and a twist daddy!

I am extremely happy with how this basket turned out and the little girl was more than pleased! I cannot wait to think of some more creative gift ideas for the year.

More Union Station

I promised to come back this week and look at me . . . I am actually here! Whoot Whoot!

Dh has been on holidays this week so we have been enjoying loads of family time which I love. I wish he didn't have to go back next week cause I love having him home with us. Today we tackled some much needed house cleaning after the Christmas holidays and then filled up the cupboards with groceries. Man feeding 4 kids is pricey ;) and now I am baking cakes for my girlfriends daughters birthday on Saturday. I am going to attemp some fondont for the first time so we will see how that goes . . . I will be sure to post pictures.

Ok now on to some scrappiness. I have a couple cards to share with you today using this months Created with Paper Collection called Union Station. I am loving all the glitter in this kit ;)

These cards will be great for Valentines Day or an Anniversary.

Bad Bad Blogger

I have been a bad bad blogger . . . sort of out of character for me but I have had so much going on lately I never seem to have the time to sit at the computer and get stuff done. So here I sit, Jan 4, 2011 making an attempt to get things here rolling once again! So much has gone on in the past few weeks scrappy wise so I would like to catch you all up that first, so here is a brief run down:

First off as most of you know, I have finished my Design Team term at Imaginisce. This is really bitter sweet for me. I have LOVED being a part of this amazing team and Imaginiace was incredibly generous and kind so I will miss both dearly. On the other hand I felt as though I was laking time to scrap for "me", so this will certainly allow me more time for that and my second news update . . . Die Cuttin Divas! My girlfriend Carla and I have been talking about starting up a challenge blog and we are finally going for it. Die Cuttin Divas will start up on February 1st so watch for our first Challenge then. . . and if your looking for the opportunity to be apart of a fun new design team be sure to check out the call here.

More Inspiration and a Winner

Well I said I would be back in a day or two and looky here . . . I actually made it! With Christmas being only 10 days away, things around here have been busy busy busy. This week alone I have babysat, volunteered at the school, delivered baking trays (that I made), prepping for a kids playgroup this Friday , done some Christmas shopping and wrapping and made 9 large gift baskets. That is all on top of my usual daily grind. Phew. Come boxing day I am gonna need to sleep for a week!

Anyway on to what you came here for today . . . another project and a winner!

On Monday I posted my Cottage Christmas countdown calendar for the Imaginisce 12 days of Christmas. I actually had two different items made for this and figured I would share the one I didn't use. Its not that I didn't like this one I just felt it wasn't creative enough. This is a simple wall or door hanging.

The base of this is actually a thin wooden snowflake that I bought from the $1.50 bin at Michaels craft store. Another cheap and simple project to brighten the holidays.

On the 12th Day of Christmas

Today is my day, along with Shemaine over at Imaginisce, to share in a day of creations and giveaways for the DT's 12 Days of Christmas. These last 12 days have been filled with some amazing projects and super giveaways and today is no exception!

Our goal for the 12 days of Christmas was to share holiday project ideas using the Cottage Christmas line that inspired you and left you wanting more. I think we definatly succeeded! Since we have been counting down days I thought a "Countdown Calendar" was the perfect creation.

Here is my take on a Cottage Christmas Countdown Calendar:

This was such and easy project to make so I thought I would share the steps so you could make your own. I used an inexpensive 12 x 12 scrapbook frame that I purchsed at the dollar store. I put my pattern paper inside the frame where you would normally put your layout. Next I adhered the letters "days till Christmas" leaving enough room for some repositionable adhesive to adhere the countdown numbers each day. Lastly I decorated the frame using a variety of mediums including chipboard, embellishments, my i-rock and i-top as well as some ribbon. Easy Peasy!

I have seriously been a bad bad blogger!! Whats with this once a week blogging? and is it seriously December? I think I must have slept through November because one minute it was here and poof it was gone!

This have been crazy busy around these parts and I have been desperatly working my little butt off to get ready for the big upcoming Christmas holidays. I have big plans for loads of baking and crafting to share with all of my family and friends. . . lets see if I can follow through. Sometimes my plans are just to big ;o)

So Enchanted

I seriously cannot believe it has been over a week since I last posted here. For Shame! Our house has been filled with caos this past week which included a bout of the stomach flu which hit every one of us including poor little Ella. I have done more laundry this week than I would normally have to do all month! YUK

My lack of blogging this week made me miss out on all the fun going on over at Imaginisce . . . this week they have been showcasing the new "Enchanted" line. I think this is my favorite line right now! It is so darn cute and has so many amazing possibilities. If you have not been by to check out everyones fabulous creations, please do so, you will not be disappointed!

Today I thought I would share a few of my "Enchanted" creations with you.

Enchanted is not just for girls, here is a layout I created of my little prince charming:

Next is a door sign that I made out of a wooden from I purchased at Michaels for $1.50, eventually I am going to get a picture of the girls wearing crowns to put in the centre.

and lastly here is a fun braclet I made featuring chipboard pieces and pattern paper from the collection. I covered all the pieces including the flowers in liquid glass so they would be water resistant and durable.

Wow its Monday again and there is still a to do list ten miles long around this place . . . why is it that laundry never ends? Just when you finish it all someone goes and dirties more!

Well I am quite sure you didn't come here to hear me whine about my laundry so lets get to the good stuff~!

Today I thought I would share a fun little repurposing/recycling project with you. I love to find new and interesting containers and packaging to alter and the little package Imaginisce Fashion Fabric Flowers come in is absolutely perfect for altering with the enchanted collection! This project is so quick and easy and would be perfect for a girls costume jewlery gift don't you think?

Ok I know I posted about a HUGE release, so here it is ladies . . .
